I feel like there hasn’t been much plot advancement in last night’s episode. The queen still hates Mary, Mary’s life is still in constant danger, the love triangle has been checkmated because Francis doesn’t want Mary but he would still would rather have Mary choose anyone other than Bash, Olivia is still at the castle, Bash is still putting his own life in danger, Kenna is still getting screwed (and consequently, screwed over) by the king, and the episode’s ending wasn’t as foreboding as it usually is. No Clarissa sightings, which makes me wonder why she didn’t alert Mary about the wayward servant (unless Clarissa planted the necklace, though I doubt it). The only character development here happened with Bash—he chose a bad guy to sacrifice because he felt obligated to, but throwing the prisoner over the cliff seemed senseless. So I guess Bash is now indulging his darker side. But otherwise, eh…this episode didn’t give me the fix I was looking for.
Next week is going to be a guest-star centered episode, so we might not get much arc development, just something episodic.
In other news, what’s the song used in the preview for next week’s episode?
